Carbon Neutrality best paper award to OOE at OMC Med Energy 2025

Big news from Ravenna, Italy! Our hybrid offshore solar& wind concept just won the Best Paper for Carbon Neutrality at the OMC Med Energy Conference & Exhibition!  


The paper ‘Hybrid Offshore Solar & Wind Parks in the Mediterranean – Cost Sharings accelerate Business Cases for Offshore Renewable Rollout in Mediterranean’ was presented by Johnny Meit of Oceans of Energy during the Renewables 1 – Solar & Wind session. It was recognized as best paper in one of the four core technical streams: Carbon Neutrality.

Authored by Johnny Meit, Aurelio Negri, Lisette van Es and Rian van der Pol Nguyen, the paper was celebrated at the Award Ceremony during the farewell lunch on April 10. Johnny proudly accepted the prize on behalf of the team, with warm applause from fellow BAMBOO Project partners and colleagues from Oceans of Energy and RINA.

Another BAMBOO paper was also presented at the conference on April 9 in the Innovation session:. ‘Predictive Yield Modelling of Offshore Solar, the next Technological Opportunity to provide Offshore Renewable Energy at Scale’. Authored by Franklin Don Xavier, Mario Mattiauda, Chaira Risi, Natalie Mica and Alessandra Monero (RINA), and jointly presented by Franklin Don Xavier and Alessandra Monero. 


The OMC Med Energy 2025 conference was a fantastic platform to spotlight BAMBOO’s goals and vision for Offshore Solar in the Mediterranean region.
