MISSION AND AMBITION
In BAMBOO, fifteen leading organisations from the EU and UK will collaborate to scale up Oceans of Energy’s pioneering offshore solar technology to standard formats of 50-200 MW, paving the way for Gigawatt scale farms. These building blocks are to become a new standard in offshore energy farms.
The project’s ambition is hence to tackle the challenges and barriers for the implementation of a sustainable, large-scale offshore solar system of 1 km², that will act as a standard industry format for the rollout of offshore solar projects worldwide, where the specific size of 1 km² equals the space available between four modern offshore wind turbines (10+ MW).
