Last week, the BAMBOO project had the opportunity to engage with stakeholders on the potential natural and social impacts and benefits of offshore solar. Together with the European Marine Board (EMB), BAMBOO hosted a public Brown Bag Lunch event in Brussels, with participants also online.

The session brought together attendees from a variety of sectors, including marine science, policy, industry and NGOs, to explore the opportunities and challenges of large-scale offshore solar deplyment.
Expert speakers Dr Pedro Vinagre (WavEC, Portugal) and Dr Gerdien de Vries (TU Delft, Netherlands) shared valuable insights on the environmental and social dimensions of offshore solar, setting the stage for a engaging exchange of ideas.

In-person participants then took part in an interactive discussion, exploring a wide range of related topics and raising several thoughful points. These insights will be taken forward as the BAMBOO project develops its closing Policy Brief.
